Acclimatization

You were just pregnant. Your little darling was very close to you and you were the only person he or she cared for. Now, all of a sudden, strangers are supposed to look after your child... Questions arise in your mind: Does this person understand the signs that my child gives them to communicate? This step is very difficult for many mothers. This change requires a lot of sensitivity! We are mothers and educators ourselves and we understand children!

In order to make the transition as gentle as possible, we apply the following pedagogical keys:

At Little Kids, children can be introduced to the new environment from the age of 3 months. We follow the Berlin introduction model and plan for 2 weeks for the introduction period. Our group leader will work with you to create an introduction plan tailored to your needs and those of your child. A good, professional introduction lays the foundation for a pleasant and trusting period of care. We want to gently introduce the children to the new environment so that they enjoy coming to us.

At the beginning, your child comes to visit us , accompanied by you, and then goes home with you. This allows us to get to know each other in a relaxed manner. When your child sees that you trust us, the first short separations take place. This way, your child learns that you will return, which creates security. The separation times are gradually extended until your child stays with us for a whole day.

From the second week, your child will stay with us for half days and then full days from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can be reached at any time if your child needs your presence.

After this gentle introduction to the new people and the new environment, your child can come to us on the days booked. If your child needs more time, we will give it to them individually. The daycare center should be a place of joy.

The adjustment can take place during the maternity leave

Creativity with the little ones

Even our youngest children show great joy in painting and being creative. These activities are of course accompanied and supported by specialist staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Creative processes such as painting hands and leaving prints on paper are not only exciting, but also educationally valuable. They promote children's motor skills, sensory perception and emotional expressiveness.

Such activities help children develop their fine motor skills by learning to handle paint brushes and other art supplies. This not only sharpens their hand-eye coordination skills, but also helps them develop precise movement patterns. In addition, the tactile experience of applying paint to the skin stimulates children's sensory skills. They learn how different materials feel and how to manipulate them in different ways.

Emotionally, creative activities such as painting provide an excellent platform for self-expression and self-discovery . Children learn to express their feelings and thoughts through colors and shapes, leading to a better understanding of their own emotional states. The joy and excitement expressed in a cry of joy or a shout of joy demonstrate how satisfying and encouraging such experiences can be for children.

In our daycare center, we consciously encourage such creative expressions to help the children support their holistic development . By giving them space and opportunities to freely develop their creativity, we help to promote their cognitive, motor and emotional development in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Nutrition

We prepare the baby food for the children ourselves. If you have any special requests, please feel free to talk to us about it, or you can bring your own food, which we will then prepare for your child.

We support the children in getting used to solid food.

The food for older children is freshly prepared every day by our cook. We cook in a child-friendly manner, seasonally and depending on the age of the children, we completely avoid spices, salt, sugar and other ingredients.

Social development

Social development is a part of life even for very young children. When interacting with other children, they learn to play with each other, to share, to set boundaries and to laugh together. These experiences are fundamental to their social skills and promote their ability to build and maintain relationships.

Cognitive development includes the development of all functions that serve to recognize and understand objects, people and oneself. These include intelligence or thinking, perception, problem solving, memory and language. These skills are particularly strengthened in a social environment with other children, as they are stimulated and developed further through interactions and shared activities.

Reference persons,
Rituals and birthday

Even the littlest ones like rituals and tasks. Rituals are very important so that children know the daily routine. The morning circle is the ritual to welcome all the children and sing together. Children enjoy it when we say a saying together before eating or sing a song before we brush our teeth or get ready to go to sleep. Even in the toddler group, the children can get involved by helping. For example, they can hand out their drinking bottles or help prepare the morning snack under supervision. Very small babies also observe and enjoy the rituals.

Interiors and offer

Interiors and offer

It is important for children that we offer them a wide range of child-friendly spaces.

These include indoor and outdoor spaces that invite you to play but also to relax.

Interiors :

It is important to us that we cover different learning areas with the play options available indoors.

  • Stimulate the imagination : colors, cloths, instruments,

  • Experience with all senses : grasp, touch, look, turn, shake

  • Gross motor skills : The rooms are set up in such a way that it is safe for children to take their first steps, pull themselves up anywhere and walk along frames. There are also obstacle courses with gymnastic elements or carpets to slide around on.

  • Construction : These games promote networked thinking and mathematical brain structure. Build and drop Action-Reaction

  • Fine motor skills, creativity and experimentation : Painting a picture with finger paints or slapping whole handprints onto a piece of paper is fun.

  • Rest : The children have their own sleep-wake rhythm throughout the day, which is discussed with the parents and continually adjusted. There is a separate bedroom.

  • Rest breaks in the daily routine: The children have the opportunity to withdraw from the game or sequences at any time and to go to the rest corner and lie down. There is a large mattress with pillows available for this purpose, which is always freely accessible. Children do not always have the same amount of energy and enthusiasm, so we offer this opportunity so that everyone can decide for themselves whether they have the strength to move in a group or would rather be alone.

  • Stories and imagination : looking at a book or looking at pictures and naming what is shown on them

Walks and fresh air

We go out into the fresh air every day. We go for walks, visit playgrounds and spend time in the garden. Our motto is: "There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing." So that we can go outside in any weather, we ask you to bring weather-appropriate clothing with you and allow it into the daycare center. This includes rubber boots, rain pants, a cap, gloves, a scarf and a sun hat. This equipment allows the children to experience nature in all its facets and to feel comfortable even in changing weather conditions. This allows them to play, romp and discover the world around them without a care in the world.
